چکیده

Abstract The BL Lac object PKS 0735+178 has shown some complex multiwavelength variation phenomena in previous studies, especially its color behavior. Bluer-when-brighter, redder-when-brighter, and achromatic behavior were all found to be possible long-term trends of 0735+178. In this work, we collected data on 0735+178, also performed a multicolor optical monitoring intraday timescales. Intraday variability was detected one night. On long timescales, 22 day time lag between the R ? -ray bands. results cross-correlation analysis exhibited strong correlations various bands both However, only mild correlation -band light curves, which could interpreted as different emission mechanisms for emissions. showed significant harder-when-brighter (HWB) band, is consistent with observed bluer-when-brighter (BWB) trend We that HWB BWB will enhanced during active states, historical low state. Such phenomenon indicates special activity-dependent it well by jet model.

Multiwavelength Observations of the Powerful γ-ray Quasar PKS 1510−089: Clues on the Jet Composition

We present the results from a multiwavelength campaign conducted in August 2006 of the powerful γ-ray quasar PKS 1510−089 (z = 0.361). This campaign commenced with a deep Suzaku observation lasting three days for a total exposure time of 120 ks, and continued with Swift monitoring over 18 days. Besides Swift observations, which sampled the optical/UV flux in all 6 UVOT filters as well as the X-...

Annual Cycles in the Interstellar Scintillation Timescales of PKS B 1519 – 273 and PKS B 1622 – 253 Steven

We have used the University of Tasmania’s 30-m radio telescope at Ceduna in South Australia to regularly monitor the flux density of a number of southern blazars. We report the detection of an annual cycle in the variability timescale of the centimetre radio emission of PKSB1622–253. Observations of PKSB1519–273 over a period of nearly two years confirm the presence of an annual cycle in the va...

Multiwavelength Observations of the BL Lacertae Object PKS 2155 – 304 with XMM - Newton

The optical-UV and X-ray instruments on-board XMM-Newton provide an excellent opportunity to perform simultaneous observations of violently variable objects over a broad wavelength range. The UV and X-ray bright BL Lac object PKS 2155–304 has been repeatedly observed with XMM-Newton about twice per year. In this paper, we present a detailed analysis of the simultaneous multi-wavelength variabil...

Diverse Bacterial PKS Sequences Derived From Okadaic Acid-Producing Dinoflagellates

Okadaic acid (OA) and the related dinophysistoxins are isolated from dinoflagellates of the genus Prorocentrum and Dinophysis. Bacteria of the Roseobacter group have been associated with okadaic acid producing dinoflagellates and have been previously implicated in OA production. Analysis of 16S rRNA libraries reveals that Roseobacter are the most abundant bacteria associated with OA producing d...

Ten–year optical monitoring of PKS 0735+178: historical comparison, multiband behaviour and variability timescales

Aims. New data and results on the optical behaviour of the prominent blazar PKS 0735+178 (also know as OI 158, S3 0735+17, DA 237, 1ES 0735+178, 3EG J0737+1721) are presented, through the most continuous BV RI data available in the period 1994-2004 (about 500 nights of observations). In addition, the whole historical light curve, and a new photometric calibration of comparison stars in the fiel...
